We are a Sámi tourism company, our guides and partners are local Sámi. We know the area and the local customs related to nature use. We have over 40 years of experience in tourism in northernmost Finland.

Go Sápmi offers authentic Sámi experiences in the stunning landscapes of Paistunturi, in northernmost Finland, on the border with Norway. With our help, you will get to know Sámi culture, traditions and nature in a unique way and learn the indigenous ways of surviving in nature.

Utsjoki has a strong Sami community and our company's goal is to support local Sami people and livelihoods in the area. We offer authentic Sami experiences with our authentic Sami guides. We are proud of our Sami identity and want to share our way of life with you. We act responsibly, we respect the sacred places and indigenous knowledge of the Sami community.

As our guest, you are not only an observer and experiencer, but also a part of the everyday life of the Sámi people. By participating in the livelihoods and culture, you will learn about our lives on a deeper level and you can utilize the things that belong to the Sámi relationship with nature in other parts of your life. At its best, our trip can change your perception of nature.

The founder of Go Sápmi is Pentti Pieski (Máret Ásllat Ivvár-Ovllá Pentti), who comes from Utsjoki on the banks of the Teno River. He was born into a fishing Sámi family and has been familiar with tourism since he was a toddler, as his father Iivari worked as a salmon fishing guide on Teno in the late 1950s. Pentti himself has worked as a fishing guide since he was 14 years old and is very familiar with the culture and history of the Teno region. 

After his studies, he has worked as a Sámi language and communication entrepreneur and a tourism entrepreneur since the early 2000s. He speaks three languages ​​fluently: Northern Sámi and Finnish as his native language, as well as English.

Pentti is an active member of his community and has been involved in many things. He was a member of the Sámi Parliament in 2016-2019, where he promoted the Sámi Parliament's communications, the revitalization of the Sámi languages, and sustainable Sámi tourism.

Go Sápmi operates in accordance with the Responsible and Ethically Sustainable Sámi Tourism Guidelines developed by the Sámi Parliament.
